“Be Water, My Friend: Make Waves” is painted on a piece of art hanging in my studio and seeing these words this morning inspired me to make this little animation.
Bruce Lee’s iconic advice from the 1971 series *Longstreet* offers a timeless perspective on how to navigate life:
"Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless—like water. Now, you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put water into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow, or it can crash. Be water, my friend."
There is profound strength in gentleness. I added the “Make Waves” to the quote because I thought that by choosing to make waves of kindness rather than destruction, we can create lasting good in the world.
